How to make money with Google

So, what's next?

Now that we have already the Ad units, we can get the code for the units. The best way to work with them is to create different Ad units and save them in separate files, and when you have a web page, you can include those files with just a line of code(e.g.<?php include(‘mygooglead728x90.php'); ?>)
That way you can easily change from one Ad unit to another.
Adsense gives you a good way to test your Ad units and to know what Ad units are performing better than others. For that, you can use something called "Channels". You can assign different channels to each Ad unit and Adsense will give a detailed report for every channel you have created. Let's say for example that you want to test how good a 728x90 text unit at the top of the page performs. You create the text unit and add to it the channels "top","size=728x90" and "mytest1 theme color" and another text unit wit the same characteristics but different colors using the channel "mytest2 theme color". Then you can create reports for each of these channels, where you can see how much money you did with each of them. You can compare what colors are performing the best on the Ads. A very simple way to do this test is to rotate these 2(or more) units on your page, an example is shown below.

       if (date("i", time()) % 2) include(mytest1google728x90.php);
       else include(mytest2google728x90.php);

With this code the Ad unit shown will depend on the time the web page was shown; on even minutes will be shown one Ad unit, and on odd minutes will be shown the other Ad unit. It's not really important to show them the same quantity of time, because in the reports you can see no only how much money you've made on each channel, you can also see how many times the add was shown, and how many times the Ad was clicked.

With these tips you are ready to start making money with Google, but remember, it won't be very easy, you should take your time to test the units to get the higher profit with each of them, to write a good web page, to get more information about web advertisement, and you should be patient, because once you have created your web page, it takes a while to be shown on search engines.

To write this tutorial I've read a bunch of material and added some of my experience building web sites. Of all the books I've read I recommend this particular one.
